(Elec. Tel. Copyright —United Tress Assn.) (Rccd. Oct. 19, 2.20 p.m.) SYDNEY, Oct. 19. The Sydney Morning Herald says that serious delays have occurred in shipping Australian wool to England under the British purchase plan.
It is learned that not a single bale I of wool has been shipped abroad since | the British Government announced, in j the first week of the war, that it i would buy the whole of the Austrai linn wool clip. In the succeeding five I weeks steamers left Australia with | their holds only partly filled. Other j freighters have been held up in AusI tralian ports for weeks awaiting | cargoes. ! It is estimated that more than ! 1,000.000 bales have been lying in
ports awaiting shipment lor six weeks. Representatives of leading woolselling firms said that the shipping delays evidently were due to the desire of the central wool committee to postpone thb appraisement of the clip until the purchase price is ascertained.
