VALUES MAINTAINED SHEEP RATES EASIER WESTFIELD AUCTION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A larger beef entry, with a good proportion of quality cattle, made full late rates under a steady demand at the Westfield stock sale yesterday. Extra choice ox beef made 42s per 1001 b., choice and prime 37s to 41s: prime cowe and heifer beef 32s to 395, boner and rough 25s to 345. Extra heavy prime steers made from £l7 to £lB 10s, heavy £ls to £lO, medium £l4 to £l4 12s Gd, light £l2 to £l3, unfinished £7 10s to £11; extra heavy prime cows and heifers £ll to £l2 10s, heavy £9 10s to £lO 10s, medium £7 10s to £8 10s, light and unfinished £4 10s to £7. Lack of quality caused a decline in prices for a full average veal entry Runners made from £4 to £8 15s, heavy vealers £5 to £7 10s, medium £3 18s to £4 18s, light £3 to £3 16s, •mailer £2 8s to £2 18s, small £1 16s .o '2 Bs, bobby and rough Is to 30s. Firm values ruled for a smaller yarding of pigs. Choppers made from 40s to 81s, heavy baconers 80s to 90s, nouium /Is to 765, light 65s to 68s; .eavy porkers 59s to 655, medium 53s o 565, light 46s to 51s, small and unfinished 40s to 445; stores 36s to 48s, slips 28s to 395, wcaners* 18s to 325. Baconers averaged GJd per lb., and porkers 7d to 7|d per lb. Prices for a larger sheep entry showed a slight easing tendency. Extra heavy prime wethers, shorn, made from 31s 9d to 365; heavy woolly 37s to 38s Gd, shorn 33s to 34s 3d; medium oos to 34s 9d, light 23s to 295, unfinished, shorn 18s Gd to 265; extra heavy prime ewes, shorn, 29s Gd to 325; heavy 26s to 28s 9d, medium 23s 9d to 25s fid, light 18s to 21s 9d, unfinished 4s to :Bs. A good offering of hoggets sold firmly to 275. Spring lambs in full quantity cached 345.
