UNIVERSITY EXAMS

STUDENTS IN FORCES SOME MAY BE EXEMPT CENTRES FOR TESTS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Special university examination arrangements for students serving .with the military forces will be finally settled at a special meeting of the University Senate on Friday morning. The registrar staled to-day that special concessions would be granted to students sitting from camp, and it was probable that those students whose work was favourably reported on by their professors would be exempt from examinations. Up to the present special leave has been granted to 22 students stationed at Fort Dorset and 16 at the Trcntham Special Force Camp, and about 20 students at Burnham and a similar number at Ngaruawahia would also be effected. The final figures are not yet available because the totals arc changing as more students are called up for service. In the case of the three Special Force camps, special examination centres are being provided close to the camps and smaller special centres are also being provided at other places, including Blenheim, for students from the nearby Royal New Zealand Air Force training school and at Levin for students from the Wcraroa Air Force camp. The examinations will commence on Monday, October 30.
