A spokesman of the Canadian Defence Department, whose identity is concealed, announced in a broadcast to-day that anil-submarine nets and defences against motor torpedo boats had been laid, nr were being laid, in harbours on both Canadian coasts. Also naval units and planes were constantly patrolling the coasts.
