MORERE MAIL BAG CASE

REMAND TO WAIROA In connection with the Morcrc mailbag robbery on October 1. Fred Ratann Kerk, of Morerc, faced two charges in the Napier Magistrate's Court yesterday before Messrs. A. E. Bedford and F. J. Annan, J.P.s. On the application of Detective-Sergeant H. N'tittail, he was remanded to appear at Wairoa on October 20. Kcrk was charged with breaking and entering the shop of Laurence Papahia South at Morerc on October 1 and stealing a quantity of groceries and tobacco and a tin of master keys to the tola] value of £3 7s Gd, and with the theft of four mail-bags, the property of His Majesty's PostmasterGeneral for New Zealand, with the intention of searching them.
