QUEENSLAND SUGAR
PURCHASE BY BRITAIN (Reed. Oct. 18. 9 a.m.) QUEENSLAND, Oct. 17. The Premier of Queensland, Mr. W. Forgan Smith, told Parliament to-day that Britain, which hitherto had been purchasing 290,000 tons ol' Queensland sugar, had agreed to purchase the remaining surplus of 9,000 tons.
