INDIAN GOVERNMENT CO-OPERATION IN WAR REQUEST TO BRITAIN (R'ecd. Oct. 18, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. IG. The Calcutta correspondent of The Times says that the Bihar Assembly passed a resolution stating that, in Order to secure the co-operation of the Indian people in war, the principles of democracy should be applied to India. The Assembly therefore invited the British Government to declare clearly that it regards India as an independent nation and to take suitable action as far as possible in the immediate present to effectuate the declaration.
