HORSES FOR DUTCH ARMY

In order to obtain horses for the Dutch Army in the East Indies, eight Japanese cavalrymen are travelling to Australia by the Maetsuycker, which arrived at Auckland from the East on Friday. A consignment of 105 horses already has been purchased and will be taken on board the Maetsuycker during a special call at Gladstone, on the Queensland coast. The purchase of Australian and New Zealand horses has been a normal practice of the Dutch authorities for a number of years.
