MEDICAL MAN’S DEATH
GREAT WAR VETERAN WAIKATO HOSPITAL CHIEF (Per Press Association.) HAMILTON, this day. The death occurred suddenly last evening of Dr. Munro May Hockin. aged 46, superintendent of the Waikato Hospital. Eleven years after qualifying, he went to the Great War as a lieutenant, returning as a major. He was in charge of the King George V Hospital, Rotorua, for a spell, and then took over private practice at Manaia, then after serving on the Waikato Hospital staff, again took on private work at Kaponga. In 1928 he was appointed medical superintendent of the Waikato Hospital. The deceased, who held a B flying certificate, keenly interested himself in aviation, being one of the foundation members of the Waikato Aero Club, and was president of that body at the time of his death.
