FARMERS CONCERNED
RECRUITS TO ARMY (l'er Press Association.) ASHBURTON, this day. Apprehensive that the enlistment of many farmers and farm workers will seriously affect production in the county, the mid-Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union has telegraphed to the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. M. J. Savage, strongly urging discrimination in enlistments. Mr. Savage replied that every effort is being made to safeguard the position regarding farm production.
