ARMY APPOINTMENTS
TRENTHAM CAMP CHIEF MEDICAL OFFICER LT.-COLONEL F. W. KEMP The appointment of Lieutenant-Col-onel F. W. Kemp, M.C., E.D., M.D., M.R.C.S-.Eng, L.R.C.P.Lond., New Zealand Medical Corps, as principal modi- j cal officer, Trcntham. camps, is an-; nounced in the Gazette. This involves his transfer from the reserve of officers to the active list. Lieutenant-Colonel J. H. Will, M. 8., New Zealand Medical Corps, has relinquished the appointment of assistant director of medical services and officer commanding N.Z.M.C., Northern Military District, and has been seconded for duty with the special force. The appointments relinquished are to be filled by LieutenantColonel H. S. ICenrick, M. 8., F.R.C.S., New Zealand Medical Corps, who has relinquished command of the Ist Field I Ambulance. ' This command is to be ! taken over by Major J. H. H. Wood, ;M.B„ New Zealand Medical Corps, i Captain V. J. Innes, New Zealand I Staff Corps, has relinquished the appointment of adjutant, Army School of Instruction, Trcntham, and has been appointed administrative commandant, Trcntham military area. He has been granted the temporary rank of major. / Lieutenant and Quartermaster G. F. McCulloch, M.8.E., New Zealand Permanent Staff, has been appointed adjutant. Army School of Instruction, Trcntham. ; STAFF ON ACTIVE SERVICE j The directors of the N.I.M.U. Inj surance Company have decided that | members of the company’s staff servj ing with the Navy, Army or Air Force i are to be regarded as being on extended leave, on the understanding that every endeavour will be made to hold their jobs open against their, return to civil life. On entering service with His Majesty's forces, the employee receives one month’s full pay, and thereafter further regular allowances will be made. Married men, and single men with dependants will be granted the difference between civil pay and military pay, whilst single men without dependents will be credited with onethircl of the difference between their civil and military rates of pay, with a minimum of ill 5s per week. In addition, the company will continue to pay its proportion of all premiums due under life insurance policies in force under the company’s staff superannuation scheme, in resoect of employees I who go O.H.M.S.
