Rescues From Surf in New Zealand

During tire *past swimming season 156 rescues were made by surf club members, 45 with belt and line and 111 without a line, according to the figures shown in the annual report of the New Zealand Surf Life-Saving Association. Twenty of the patients received resuscitation treatment and 151 persons were treated as first aid cases. In the club returns Gisborne club is shown to have rescued two bathers without a line and Wainui a similar number by the same process. Members of the Wainui club also treated three first aid cases.
