RUSSIANS TOLD

BRITAIN’S ATTITUDE IMPARTIAL SURVEY SHRUGS BY ITALIANS ALTERNATIVES OPEN (Reed. Oct. 14, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 13. A Moscow message states that the Soviet wireless transmitted a long and remarkably impartial summary of the speech made by the Prime Minister, Mr .Neville Chamberlain, in the House of Commons yesterday in reply to Herr Hitler’s “peace” offer voiced in the Reichstag on Friday of last week. This procedure by the Soviet was in marked contrast with its silence over Herr Hitler’s speech in the Reichstag. A message from Rome states that Mr. Chamberlain’s speech caused no surprise. With shrug of shoulders Italian authoritative circles recap Herr Hitler's alternatives of peace or a war of extermination. They consider that further peace overtures ire unnecessary and excluded. It is reiterated that Italy’s neutrality is unchanged.
