TIENTSIN CLASH
JAP. POLICE WOUNDED AMERICAN MARINES (Reed. Oct. 13, 9 a.m.) TIENTSIN, Oct. 12. Two United States marines guarding a freight car wounded two Japanese railway police in' an altercation. The American naval authorities fear serious repercussions. Tile Japanese arrested one marine, who was subsequently released. It is said that one •Japanese was wounded in the thigh when he drew a sword and the other was struck on the head with a revolver butt. The Marine Board of Inquiry announced that the marine who hau been released had “quite an in* terestirig experience, but he was not ill-treated.”
