BOGUS HORSE BUYERS LONDON, Oct, 2. Horse thieves have been active in England since, the outbreak of war, a favourite method of thieves being to pose as Government officials. Several cases were reported last week, when, men wearing officiallooking artp bands visited farms, declared that they were Government buyers, and demanded and received horses at sacrificial prices. Last night, thieves raided a riding school in one of tire suburbs of London during a “black-out," laid down wood chips to deaden the noise, and stole bridles and horses
Two valuable i houses wore discovered without bridles o.i the roadside, It is presumed that .inexpert thieves endeavoured to take them off in a van. but were unable ;o handle there high-spirited animals.
