The first' amphibian flying boat in South Africa, a craft which can accommodate itself to an aircraft carrier’s deck, to the surface of the sea, to dry 'land or to catapult, has been added'to the strength of the British Fleet Air Arm at Simonstown. It is a Supermarine Walrus I, a type extensively used by the Royal Navy for reconnaissance, spotting and bombing. The machine arrived at the Naval Dockyard in a crate recently.
