ACCEPTANCE BY CHURCH AUCKLAND DISCUSSION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A motion disapproving of the action of certain organisations connected with social service work of the diocese in receiving money grants from the proceeds of Mate lotteries was keenly debated at a sitting of the Anglican Diocesan Synod. Archbishop Averill, said the question was a difficult one. If this money was refused on the ground that it was tainted, ought not every contribution received by the Church to be examined in a similar light he asked? The motion was lost on the voices.
