CRUSHING BLOW TO NAZI PRIDE
WAR BEING WAGED ON HOME SOIL ORDER TO EXPEL ARMY OF FRANCE MILLIONS WAIT BIG GERMAN PUSH (Reed. October 11, 1.50 p.m.) PARIS, October 10. The weather on the Western Front is deteriorating rapidly. It is reported that Herr Hitler has given orders that the French must be driven out of Oermaiiy. Millions are now facing each other ready for the big Herman push, to wipe out the blow to Nazi pride, because the war is being 1 ought on German soil. If such an attempt materialises the Germans will face stern resistance. The French have constructed'a series of miniature Maginot Lines ns they advanced. If the Germans succeeded in regaining the lost ground they then '‘would be faced with the fortress of ThionviHe, which would cost millions of lives to capture. The Germans might seek to avoid it by violating Luxemburg, but France is prepared for this and other contingencies.
