POINT-BLANK RANGE GERMANS FALL OUT ADVANCE BY FRENCH SUPERB MOBILITY (Reed. Oct. 11, 9 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 10. It is reported that a battle took place in a forest between French and German tanks. With guns firing at point-blank range the battle continued until the German tanks fell out one by one, their armour pierced and their crews dead. The French tanks, which were not supported by infantry or aircraft, continued their advance. It is reported that the French tanks have shown superb mobility and powers of resistance, and very few have been lost through the enemy’s intensive use of land mines..
