CARD EVENING (Hornld Correspondent.) The final of a series of three bridge and five-hundred evenings conducted by the ladies’ committee of the Church of England was held in the Te Puka Hall, Tokomaru Bay, recently, prizewinners for the evening being: Bridge. —Mesdames iG. IChaffey, W. Brydon and J. Williams. Five-hundred.—Mrs. A. B. Forrester, Mrs. Cross, Mr. H. Forrester and Mr. M. Forrester. Most clips.—Mrs. Cross. Aggregate.—Mrs. G. Mac Kay and Mr. E. Hankey. Prior to his departure for camp, Mr. E. R. Macpherson, of the Post Office staff, was the recipient of a razor from his fellow-employees. In making the presentation, the postmaster, Mr. L. Mills, wished Mr. Macpherson the best of luck and a safe return. Mr. Macpherson replied briefly. Mr. Morrison, Gisborne, is filling his place temporarily. Mr. and Mrs. G. Hamilton, Gisborne, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. N. Newlands. —Mr. and Mrs. K. Le Beau are visiting Gisborne.—Mr. and Mrs. R. Jackson are on a holiday visit to Timaru. Mr. K. Oates is spending his annual leave in Auckland.—Mr. and Mrs. J. Mac Knight are on holiday in Gisborne. —Miss E. Corbett has returned from a vacation in Christchurch.—Misses M. Corbett and N. Quintal and Mr. J. Corbett were week-end visitors to Gisborne. —Mrs. B. Welsh, Wellington, is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. P. Kay, Hautanoa.
