“SECOND A.1.F.” UNIT
NEW TROOPS’ TITLE (Reed. Oct. 9, 1.50 p.m.) MELBOURNE, 9. The Minister of Defence, Mr. G. A. Street announced that the new special volunteer military force for service at home or abroad will be known as the “second A.1.F.” to distinguish it from, the original A.I.F. and "because the exigencies of the defence measures may at some time necessitate the raising of more than one division.”
