WOMAN PAMPHLETEER

OVER WHITE HOUSE PLEA TO AUTHORITY (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Oct, 9, 9 a.m.) WASHINGTON, Oct. 7. Fighting back tears, Miss Laura Ingalls, noted American woman flyer, who following her action last month in dropping- leaflets near White House was asked to state why her license should not toe cancelled, pleaded today to the Aeronautics Authority not to revoke her license. She denied that she flew over White House, and insisted she did not know that the area was restricted. “My motive was one of patriotic fervour,” she said. “It was not a lark. Flying is my business and my life. My family has virtually ex-communi-cated me because I spent most of my money on flying. I would rather fly than eat and drink.”
