HAWKE’S BAY SHOW TRAINS FROM WAIROA Entries l’cr the Hawke's Bay Spring Show are greater than last year’s by 242, and total 3319. Although it will be a war-time Show, it is expected o be a distinct success, and in support of this it is stated that in 1914 the attendance at the Show was a record to that time. Tlie entries compare as follows with .hose ol' last year, the 1938 figures being given in parenthesis: —Horses, 502 (500); cattle, 268 (216); sheep, 600 (433): pigs, 64 (49); fleece wool, 43 (41); farm products, 51 (62); poultry, 230 (230); dogs, 463 (442); schools, 698 (641): sundries, 394 (452); totals, 3319 (3067). Special trains will be run from Wairoa on People’s Bay, October 19. and excursion fares will be available. A. Bluck (departed spirits). Std.
