Parris was well ahead on points up to the sixth round, when Morton took a fresh lease of life and fought like a whirlwind. Parris stood up gamely to a terriffic battering in the tenth and eleventh rounds, but was so far gone near the .end of the eleventh that the referee had no alternative but to stop the fight and award the decision to Morton.
