UNITS IN FRANCE WORKING WITH TROOPS (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 9 a.m. RUGBY, Oct. 7. Air Chief Marshal Sir Cyril Newall, addressing British press representatives in Paris, said that the Royal Air Force had now been firmly established in France for several weeks. Every type of plane was being used or waiting to be used, and there are many more to come. Royal Air Force units had been stationed in various parts of France and are working in extremely close co-operation with the British field forces, the French Air Force and the French Army. Sir Cyril Newall expressed his sincere thanks for the great reception, hospitality and asssistance given to the Royal Air Force officers and men by the inhabitants of villages in which they were stationed and to the French Air Force itself.
