OPEN FIELDS POOR GOLD VAALS IS DUE STAR VAALS SHOWS FORM WIN-AND-PLACE BETTING By “Trenton” With the exception of the Novice Handicap and the Otara Hurdles, the fields for the Bay of Plenty Racing Club’s meeting to-morrow arc much below standard. Only five horses are due to face the starter in the big race of the day, the Opotiki Handicap,, and only one more in the open “six.” The win-and-place system of betting will operate, but in the majority of the races only two dividends will be paid.
