A Fine Ship

“She is the finest vessel that has entered the New Zealand coastal trade,” was the manner in which Captain W. E. Wahlstrom, master o,f the new motor ship Purh'i, to-day described his ship, which is paying her first visit to Gisborne. Captain Wahlstrom is proud of his ship’s fine appointments and modem equipment. Accommodation for officers and crew is provided amidships and an inspection of the ship reveals that ■ much attention has 'been paid to this. The spaciousness of all the cabins is a feature of the design and some fine oak panelling has been used m the captain’s cabin and the saloon. Valuable navigating equipment is provided on the ship and her wireless apparatus includes a radio telephone. A feature that 'lias attracted much interest m shipping circles is the rolling steel covers for the two hatches.
