GRASS PLOT TOO BIG

TROUBLE NEAR WHARF LORRIES’ DIFFICULTIES The triangular grass .plot near the Kaiti wharf came in for discussion yesterday afternoon at the meeting of the Gisborne advisory committee of the Automobile Association (Auckland), when the patrol, Mr. G. V. Morton, suggested that a portion be removed to make it easier to manoeuvre heavy trucks leaving the wharf. It was decided that the patrol and Messrs L. Miles, A. Baillie, and E. W. Forrest should form a sub-committee to inquire in.to tend report on the matter. The patrol drew attention to the difficulty of truck driyers moving away from the wharf and suggested that 10ft. be taken off the plot. He was supported by Mr. Baillie, who said that there was always the danger of a blockage of traffic when ships were being worked in the harbour basin.
