The cause of the war was Germany’s determination to dominate Europe. France and Britain had tried in every way to solve Europe’s differences short of war, but Herr Hitler provoked the war and he must shoulder the entire responsibility.” M. Daladier paid a. tribute to Signor Mussolini’s last-minute efforts for peace and emphasised the friendship and perfect loyalty characterising Franco-Turkish relations.
