SCOUT NOTES
- CHRISTMAS CAMP OUTSIDE TROOPS COMING By “Scoutcr” Now that the majority cf the Scouts have overcome the disappointment of having no jamboree for Christmas, they are making up in some small measure toy concentrating on having a good camp at Rimuroa station, the usual camping ground. No effort is to be spared by the officers and boys to make this year’s camp a real jamboree one, and from new until Christmas work will be carried out on different Saturdays in preparing the ground. The indications are that probably it will be the largest Boy Scout camp ever held in this district. There will be Scouts from Wairoa, Tolaga Bay, Ruatoria and probably Kopua-whara, as well as the three local troops. On Saturday, October 7, the local Scouts will meet at the corner of Stafford street and Ormond road at 9.30 a.m. in working clothes, and with their lunches, but not with swimming suits. Some of the bigger boys can bring a spade or shovel—eight or nine will be sufficient —and a grubber or two, a few rakes, and hoes. We shall leave the camp ground for home about 3 p.m. There seems to be some misunderstanding among parents regarding district scarves and badges. We hope to see every boy with a scarf and badge representing this district, particularly should they at any time visit other districts as Boy Scouts. A court of honour will bo hold at the YJM.C.’A. Scout room at 7.15 p.m. to-day for leaders only.
