SHOP ASSISTANTS’ UNIT EMPLOYERS’ SUPPORT (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. With a donation of £750 from ( its funds, the Auckland Retail Shop Assistants’ Union decided at a meeting last night to form its own national service unit. After appropriate training, this unit will operate in all emergencies durang working hours throughout every department store and small shop in the congested business areas in the city. Members are to receive instruction in first aid work and emergency precautions. It was announced that the Employers’ Association endorsed the proposal, which includes the appointment of fully qualified trainees ns wardens in their respective stores or buildings.
