THREE MEN KILLED

LEVEL CROSSING SMASH VICTORIAN TRAGEDY (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Reed. Get. 3, .9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 2.

Three men were' killed in a level crossing smash near Yarram, on the Gippsland line, 80 miles from Melbourne, to-day. They were George Tyler, of Sale; William Lacey, of Warragul, and Gerald O’Oowd, of Melbourne.

The men were returning to Yarram, after attending a pig sale. Friends in another car had just cleared the crossing, and. heard a crash. They returned and found their companions dead. The car was struck by a goods train.

A farmer standing near the crossing waved a warning, which apparently was misunderstood.

Messrs. Lacey and O’Dowd were well-known Victorian pig buyers.
