Preparations for Cricket

The turf wickets on the Oval are being prepared for the start of the cricket season and it is hoped to have the first game played towards the end of October. A splendid flush of grass has come away since the recent rain and the grounds have recovered quickly from the effects of the Rugby season. It is understood that the practice wickets this season will be on the southern side of the Oval and that no provision will be made for the extra wicket that was necessary for the competitions last year.
