QUEBEC ELECTIONS

FEDERAL MINISTERS PART IN CAMPAIGN (Heed. Oct. 2, 9 a.m.) OTTAWA, Sept. 29. The Canadian Minister of Justice, Mr. E. Lapoint, accused the Premier of Quebec, Mr. Maurice Dupiessis, of “sowing seeds of discord at a time of national unity and sacred duty." He announced that he and his Cabinet colleagues from Quebec were entering the election campaign in the province, in which they would not have intervened if Mr. Dupiessis had refrained from criticising the Federal Administration, thus forcing it to seek a testimony of confidence. Mr. Dupiessis had announced that Quebec would hold a general election on the Federal war legislation, which lie alleged, was an invasion of constitutional rights.
