CONTRABAND SEIZURE
NAZIS TAKE 45 SHIPS (Rccd. Oct. 2, noon.) LONDON, Sept. 30. A Berlin report says that German warships have taken contraband from 45 ships in the past two days in the Kattegat area. The Copenhagen correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain says that the Finnish steamer Sarakunta, en route to Belgium with timber, was taken by a warship to Hamburg. Captain Thomas Georgeson, master of the Winkleigh, and Captain D. B. IVlacAlpine, master of the Blairlogie, arrived with 67 members of their crews from America, where they were taken when rescued. Both emphasised that the submarine commanders gave considerate treatment.
