DR. GOEBBELS’ FILM
The reference of the Ministry of Information recently to a film revealing . the luxurious life of Dr. Joseph Goeb- . bels, Nazi .Minister of Propaganda, recalls one of the bad errors of that . little man. The film was made at the. behest of Dr. Goebbels some months v ago after he had installed himself in a luxurious new home on ’an island * near Berlin. It revealed the way of life of the Goebbels family and was designed, it appears, as part of a plan (o bring the Nazi leaders into intimate touch with the people who had provided those funds the Ministry of Information has .been discussing. But as a popular figure Dr. Goebbels, it seemed, had his shortcomings. The film was hissed so heartily that, according to an American newspaper correspondent, It was quickly withdrawn from the Berlin cinemas.
