BREAKDOWN OF PEACE

WORLD FORCE NEEDED CONTROL OF NATIONS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Dominion council of the New Zealand branch of the League of Nations Union passed a resolution stating that it considers peace broke down because the real causes oC war were not removed in 1919.

It urges that national anarchy must he replaced by some solid international structure, which should have power to enforce the rule of. law over its members, in short, national sovereignty must be sacrificed to some extent in order to create an effective international authority, if possible covering the civilised world, but at least including Europe.

The union invites the New Zealand Government to use its influence in Imperial discussions in order that the war aims may be clearly defined along the lines of its own statement of September, 1938, developed as may seem necessary, in the light of present conditions.
