HONOURS DIVIDED

PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS

FOUR DOUBLES SCORED

MARTIN MEDAL TO HALL Honours were well divided amongst the competing schools at the annual sports meeting held by the Poverty Bay Primary Schools’ Sports Association yesterday, representatives from the various town and district schools figuring prominently in all events.

Ideal weather conditions favoured the fixture and there was an attendance of about 2000 school-children and parents. The meeting was controlled by teachers at the various schools and the programme was put through' with commendable dispatch.

A . popular, break in the. activities was the arrival of the daily milk supply in the morning and the youthful sports enthusiasts did not need any second call to come forward for their ration.

On the athletic side, the principal event was the boys’ 100yds. championship for the J. J. Martin Medal, the winner being N. Hall, Patutahi School, who beat Henderson, Gisborne Central, and R.
