QUEEN CARNIVAL
ACTIVITY IN WAIROA CANDIDATES’ REPORTS (Special to flic Herald.) WAIROA. this day. The residence of Mrs. H. L. Marker was filled on Tuesday night when CO players took part in a crazy whist evening, which was held to assist the campaign of the Citizens’ candidate in the Wairoa queen carnival. Prizes were won by Mrs. D. Glengarry and Mr. W. T. Peel. At the conclusion of a highly enjoyable evening supper was served by the ladies' committee. Dance at Clydebank
A most enjoyable dance was held in Mr. H. B. Taylor’s woolshed at Clydebank, in honour of the County queen, Miss D. Delaney. Great credit is due to Messrs. W. Taylor and C Farquharson, who were largely instrumental in arranging the dance. Baty Bros, supplied the music, and Mr. C. Farquharson made an efficient M.C. A competition for a turk'ev was won by Miss B. Morgan.
The following were appointed to a committee to further Miss Delaney’s interests: —Chairman, Mr. H. B. Taylor; deputy, Mr. W. Swannell: secretarv. Mr. C. Farquharson; treasurer, Mr! W.
