DOUBLING THE OUTPUT

(Reed. Sept. 30, 9 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 29,

The Federal Minister of Supply, Mr. R. G. Casey, said to-day after a meeting of the War Cabinet that Australia was increasing the production of munitions to such an extent that it could not only meet its own requirements, but also provide supplies to other parts of the Empire. The production of all types of shells had increased 100 per cent.

Mr. Casey said that some important overseas orders had already been accepted. Increased factory capacity would be created soon for the manufacture of three types of machineguns. The production of anti-tank guns would also be proceeded with.
