Last Night’s Forecast

General Situation: A weak trough of low pressure extends front the South Island td the north-west Tasman Sea. Anti-cyclones are located east of New Zealand and over south-eastern Australia, respectively.

Forecast: Winds light to fresh, north-east to north-west predominating, but a change to southerly probably advancing over most of the South 1 Island during the next 24 hours. Seas: In New Zealand waters, rather rough to rough about arid west of Cook and Foveaux Straits, slight to moderate elsewhere. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate northerly winds at first, but a change to southerly advancing from the south-west; seas, moderate. Weather: For the most part fair; raid at times, however, in western and southern districts of the South Island, and unsettled conditions probably becoming more general' later 'in the week-end'. Temperatures: Cool in tile south, mild elsewhere.

To-Day’s North Island Report The Weather was fine this morning along the East Coast, but overcast condition's were reported at 9 o'clock at Tauranga, Napier and Wellington: The winds were variable and ol' moderate force. • A slight swell was running at all points on the Coast, except at Cape Palliser, where conditions were' rough. The barbmetric pressure had shown little change "from yesterday morning's readings. The temperatures were a Shade higher than yesterday morning and ranged as follows: Napier, CO; Tatiranga, 57; Gisborne, 56; Auckland, 55; Opotiki, 54; and Wellington 52.

Midday Forecast General situation.—Weak depressions are located to the north-west and south-east, 'but otherwise pressure is -high and relatively linform.
