White Georgette Bridal Frock A quiet but pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Andrew s Church last Monday evening, when. Noeline Annette, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Jennings, Gisborne, was married to Cyril George, elder son of Mr. and Mrs. G. A. Thompson, Gisborne.
The bride, who was given away by •her father, wore a frock of white georgette over satin, the bodice being gauged with long full sleeves gathared at the wrists, the neckline being finished with a Peter Pan collar and a row of buttons to the waistline. The skirt was fully flared to form a slight train. The veil which was worn over the face was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom. The shoes and hose were to tone,_ and the bouquet was composed of miniature lilies', freesias and smilax. The bride was .attended by her sister. Mrs. T. Moore, as matron of honour. Her dress of gold and lemon shaded taffeta was made with a fullyflared skirt, tight-fitting bodice with large puff sleeves, these and the waistline being trimmed with two rows of frilling. She wore shoes and hose to tone, and carried a bouquet of gold and lemon ranuncuias, lachenailias, and fern.
A reception was later held at the home of the bride’s sister, only immediate relatives and intimate friends being present. The bridegroom's mother wore a •brown costume, lace blouse, with hat, «hoes and gloves to.tone. Her bouquet was of deep pink double stock and fern. Mrs. Webb, grandmother of the bridegroom, wore a grey velvet dress, with a coat and hat of black. Mrs. L. Faulkner, sister of the bridegroom, wore a navy and white ensemble with matching accessories. The bride and bridegroom left later for their future home in Napier, the bride travelling in a costume of Air Force blue, with navy blue georgette blouse, navy hat, shoes, gloves and handbag.
Goniing-of-Age Party - A delightful party was held at the home of Mrs. S. Higham, Parau street, last evening to celebrate the coming-of-age of Mr. Sid Hall, Pouawa. Iceland poppies and paper streamers in autumn tonings were used with artistic effect in the decoration of the sitting-room.
A delectable supper was served informally. Pride of place was given to ‘he handsome birthday cake, which had been made by Mrs. A. F. Hall. Games, community singing, and dancing were much enjoyed. The hostess received the guests wearing a scarlet satin and silver evening gown, with coatee fo match. The guests present werer-Mi. and Mrs. A. F. Hall, Mr. and * Mrs. S. Higham, Mr. and Mrs. E. Poveil. Mr. and Mrs. 11. Hart, Mr. and Mrs. M. Hill, Mr. and Mrs. R. Hunt, Mr. and Mrs. H. Hicks; Misses N. Hall, M. Hitchings, P. Herbert, B. Reid, R. Carr, B. Brown, and B. Bould; Messrs. S. B. and F. Hall, K. Henslow, R. Hannah, B. Brown, R. Stevens, R. Wade and B. Higham.
