Saturday Closing
By o. majority of one, the Poverty Bay Electric-Power Board to-day decided to close its office all day on Saturdays, and to re-arrange the week-day hours to make up the time to the scheduled weekly total. Those in favour of the motion were Messrs. H. H. De Costa, the mover, M. T. TraiTord, the seconder, T. Corson, J. H. Hall. F. R. Ball, and C. E. Mills; and those who voted against the motion were Messrs. B. J. Holdsworth, C. W. Izod, J. E. Benson, S. H. Phillips, and Chas. Matthews. The weekday hours were fixed as from 8.30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and the managingsecretary, Mr. R. P. Baigent, was instructed to close the cashier’s department at 4.30 p.m. each day, as against 4 p.m. as at present. The changes are to take effect from November 1. When in Napier be sure to call at the “Home of Good Eats”—that’s the “Trocadoro”-—Hastingo Street.*
