The monthly meeting of the St. Luke’s Parish Mothers’ Union was held in Makaraka recently. There was a good attendance of members at. 'he service conducted by the Rev. R. C. Aires in St. Barnabas’ Church’and later at the home of Mrs. Halbert. The resignation of Mrs. W. F. Marshall as enrolling member was re--eived with regret. The position was filled by Mrs. Barron.

X guest for the afternoon was Miss Beattie, the Anglican Sunday school’s supervisor, who gave a most interest'ng address on her work. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the -praker. A dain’y afternoon tea, followed by t social half-hour, concluded an interesting meeting.
