PRIMARY SCHOOL SPORTS RUGBY AND BASKETBALL RESULTS OF EARLY GAMES " ~~ # The annual sports meeting conducted by the Poverty Bay Primary School Sports' Association opened on the Oval this morning, town and district schools being well represented in the various events. This fixture is always a popular day’s outing for the school children, there being about 2000 competitors and spectators at the Oval. Ideal weather is favouring the fixture.

Rugby Open.—First Round: Patutahi 9, Te Hapara 6. Under 7st. 71b.—First Round: Kaiti 10, Makauri nil. Under Gst.—First Round: Te Hapara C beat Te Hapara E by default; Manutuke beat Te Hapara D by default; Marist 11. Mangapapa A nil; Kaiti 9, Ormond nil; Patutahi 5, Makaraka 3. Tunnel Ball Under 10.—Finalists in the A section are Patutahi and Makauri, and in the B section Awapuni and Kaiti A.
