The last bout of the 1939 Christchurch wrestling season saw Earl McGready last (night heat Rube Wrtgnt by two. falls to one in an exciting match. Wright took a fall with a figure four head-scissors in the fourth round, but McCready took the decision with good fails after dumps in the sixth and seventh rounds
