Pilot’s Body Recovered
The body of Acting-Pilot Olflcer Alan George Whitehead, of the Royal Air Force and late of Palmerston North, has been recovered from the sea, according to advice received in Wanganui. Acting - Pilot Officer Whitehead was drowned as the result of an aircraft accident on September 1 2. He was at a training station at Fern Hill, Shropshire, and his last letter advised that he had gained hi? wings. The funeral is to be with full service honours and he is to be buried at Llanengan, Wales
