OBJECTIVE OF BRITAIN (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (British Official Wireless.) Reed. 1.30 p.m. RUGBY, Sept. 27. Questioned on a project for a united stales of Europe, the Under-Secretarv for Foreign Affairs. Mr. R. A. Butler, told the House of Commons that as ine Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, had indicated, the British Government desired the formation of a stable international system, having as its object tiie prevention of war and the just settlement of international disputes by pacific means. The Government did not however regard it as desirable to commit itself at this stage to any particular procedure for achieving this aim.
