BOXER REMANDED
CHARGE OF ASSAULT TAXI-Dili YUR’S INJURIES (Pur Press Association.) HASTINGS, this day. A young professional boxer, George Barry Edward Allen, appeared before Mr. J. E. Sutcliffe, J.P., in the Hastings Police Court, yesterday, on a charge that, on September 24, at Havelock Norih, he did assault Raymond Walter George Davidson, a taxidriver, .so as to cause 'him actual bodily harm. Allen was remanded until October 7. Bail was fixed at £IOO in his own recognisance and a surety of £IOO. The alleged victim was admitted to the Napier Public Hospital, suffering from head injuries, including ia fracture of the base of the skull, a fractured nose and concussion. His condition at first was critical, but it has since improved.
