USE OF SUCTION GAS

PRODUCTION FROM COAL N.Z. ROAD TRANSPORT AUCKLAND INDICATION (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. A statement that several road transport vehicles were being equipped to run on suction gas. produced from coal was made by several road transport operators at a sitting of the No. 1 Transport Licensing Authority to-day. They said there would be no obnoxious fumes from the gas and they were satisfied that good results could be achieved. The authority, Mr. E. J. Phelan, congratulated the operators on their enterprise, adding that it would assist to build up the industry to use a lot of New Zealand waste coal.
